Speech Pathology Services

Referrals are received from parents, school or childcare teachers, child health nurses, GP's or medical specialists.  A medical referral is not necessary. Charmaine is very happy to address phone or email enquiries (Please go to the contact page for details)  if you would like to discuss any issues or concerns prior to arranging an initial consultation.

Your first home visit  will consist of an assessment, where Charmaine will take a case history and use a range of standardised and play based techniques to assess your child's speech and language development. Assessment sessions are between 60 and 90 minutes in length. Charmaine will ensure all assessment results are discussed with you and a written report outlining findings and recommendations will be provided.

Therapy sessions can be 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes in length depending on your child's age, attention span and your financial capacity. Sessions can be scheduled on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.

Prior to the commencement of therapy, Charmaine will discuss intervention goals with you, as well as the steps and processes required to ensure therapy success.

An important part of your child's speech pathology management is effective communication with other professionals involved in their care. Charmaine is very happy to liaise with these important stakeholders which include GPs, paediatricians, teachers, child care workers and other therapists.

Presentations and workshops customized for your needs on a variety of topics.

The cost of an initial assessment varies, based on the age of the child and the nature of the problem that they are presenting with.  Subsequent therapy rates also vary, with 30 minute, 45 minute and 1 hour appointments available.  I am happy to take phone enquiries and give you specific information regarding fees on request.
